Home & Office IT Infrastructure

#

IT infrastructure refers to the composite hardware, software, network resources and services required for the existence, operation and management of a business. IT infrastructure allows a company to deliver IT solutions and services to its employees, partners and/or customers and is usually internal to a business and deployed within owned facilities.

Typically, a standard IT infrastructure consists of the following components: Hardware - this is the 'physical' part of an IT infrastructure and comprises all the elements necessary to support the basic functioning of the machines and devices constituting the infrastructure itself. Software - refers to all the applications used by the business both for internal purposes and to provide services to customers. Network - essential to establish internal and external communication of all elements and devices.

Small office/home office (SOHO), it is a term that refers to the small or home office environment and the business culture that surrounds it. A SOHO is often thought of as being the smallest of small businesses. It is a privately owned and operated business and is synonymous with individuals who are self-employed. SOHO is often characterized as being small in both the size of the office space and number of employees. Home offices are set up by people who work from home, whether they are self-employed or telecommute. A small office is not too disimilar from a home office, except it is generally not related to personal residence and will generally cater for at most 20 individuals.

We understand the requirements of SOHOs. Some businesses only need the essentials while others want a fully equipped office. We would like to partner with you and assist you with the design and implementation of your SOHO IT infrastructure. Whether you merely require standalone desktop(s)/laptop(s) or multiple peripheral devices (e.g. extra monitors, a printer, a shredder, wired connectivity or WiFi, etc), we will fulfil your IT equipment requirements.

In South Africa, small to medium enterprises (SMEs) are defined as companies with 20 to 99 employees (small enterprise) and 100 to 200 employees (medium enterprise). With an increase in employee numbers over SOHOs, the need for a more robust and reliable IT infrastructure increases several fold. There is a greater requirement for computing devices, peripheral devices, network connectivity, shared storage, data security and a system architecture that factors in redundancy. These requirements in turn facilitate a more productive environment, caters for higher output and allows organisations to perform at a higher level.

Despite the increased IT infrastructure requirements that are inherent to SMEs, we are able to assist such businesses in this regard. We are able to provide the necessary end-user computing devices, internet and network connectivity, peripheral devices as well as other infrastructure and services that may be required. This offering is complimented by our ability to offer an additional consulting service which can be useful for companies who need assistance with planning their IT infrastructure projects.

A computer lab is a space which provides computer services to a defined community. Computer labs are typically provided by libraries to the public, by academic institutions to students, or by other institutions to the public or to people affiliated with that institution. In addition to computers, labs are typically equipped with internet access (wired or wireless) and may also be augmented with scanners, printers or even shared storage which adds even greater value to the service being offered.

Since we believe that education is foundational to the succesful future of our amazing country, it is very important to us that we as an IT company, find a way to play our part in the education of our fellow citizens. To this end, we have mandated in our company vision and mission, to take on a significant portion of IT projects related to educational institutions such as universities, schools, libraries and other institutions of education, both public and private. Our dream is to see a computer lab (including a stable and reliable internet connection) in every school (grades 1 to 12), college (including FET and TVET), university and other educational institutions.
